The Spring 2017 (May 8-13 | JAPAN) CA+AT travel edition explored the theme of Art in Architecture through the work of Tadao Ando, Ryue Nishizawa, Kazuyo Sejima, Hiroshi Sambuichi in Naoshima, Teshima, Inujma, Awaji and Isamu Noguchi at the Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum in Takamatsu.

2016 edition | October 10-14
From October 10-14, 2016 CA+AT brought a selected group of designers and artists from all over the world to a curated research travel on the islands of Naoshima and Teshima in the Seto Inland Sea – Japan. The sites include unique art, architecture and open-air installations: among others the Lee Ufan Museum by Tadao Ando; Chichu Art Museum, also by Tadao Ando with artworks by Claude Monet, James Turrell, Walter De Maria; Teshima Art Museum by Ryue Nishizawa with permanent art installation by Rei Naito; James Turrell, Walter de Maria, Yayoi Kusama, Sou Fujimoto, Dan Graham, Mariko Mori, Pipilotti Rist, Christian Boltanski.
The tour included a special talk with Fram Kitagawa, internationally renowned director of the Setouchi Triennale and curator of numerous art festivals in Japan focused on social and landscape regeneration through art.
A visit to the Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum Japan, nestled on the hills of Takamatsu, was organized with a special tour led by longtime curator Mihoko Masuda.

CA+AT Talk Series are collateral events meant to create moments of exchange among the international architecture and design community. The 2016 edition of CA+AT Talk Series was held in collaboration with de sign de> at the Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library on the occasion of the Osaka Design Week.
